or: how I think apple should have changed things.
I recently installed iPhone OS 4.2 on my iPad, and generally speaking, I’m happy with what I’m seeing. I like the folders for programs, and I think multitasking was inevitable.
One thing I don’t like is the fact that my screen rotation lock switch is now a mute switch. I dislike this for two reasons. First, because I liked having then screen rotation lock feature so reasily available, and second because I think they could have done it so much smarter.
I see you asking yourself what I could be thinking of, well here goes: give me options! Make it an option in settings, and allow us to choose from any number of options, such as mute, screen rotation lock, offline mode and deactivating the touch screen, just to mention a very few options (all of which I think the button is very well suited for).
Now, I know that might not happen within the next, say, six months, but I do hope it will come sooner or later, and obviously, I’d prefer it to be sooner rather than later.
