Following on from last week’s post, I’d like to take a look at the various ways in which I can be contacted through secure channels. If you’re on a smart phone, you can reach me through Whisper Systems’ Signal App. I also have a GPG key pair. My public key is:

On the necessity for strong encryption to remain legal
Some time ago, I had yet another induhvidual claim that some policy of the security establishment was only bad for criminals, and that those who had nothing to hide also had nothing to fear. I can’t find the original context, but I am fairly certain it had something to do with US authorities and their bumbling handling of the now infamous San Bernadino iPhone. Whatever the context was, the induhvidual in question praised Donald Trumps support of proposals to outlaw strong encryption methods, making the aforementioned argument.

Reviewed: Tesla Model S part 6: 10000 kilometers down the road
As regular readers of the blog will know by now, my wife and I bought a Tesla Model S last year. Here are my thoughts on it, after having had it on the road for 10000 kilometers:

Understanding a product revisited
I would like to revisit my thoughts on understanding the product of news outlets. Some time ago, an acquaintance, who works for a news outlet posted a picture of a newspaper article to his Facebook feed, stating that “…this is journalism. State of the blog 2016
State of the blog is a new segment that I’m trying out. It’s meant to be the summer counterpart to my end-of-year roundup series, and some information will be presented both places.

Enable HDMI Device Link on PS4
Following our recent move from one home to another, we changed up our media diet, and replaced our media center PC with two devices; an Apple TV and a Playstation 4. The former is HDMI Device Link-enabled from the get-go, meaning that you (in theory) only need to use the Apple TV remote to turn on both the Apple TV and the TV itself. In practice, it’s not always that clear-cut, though it generally works fairly well. HDMI Device Link does work when the TV is on, switching from one input to another.

Reviewed: Tesla Model S part 5: 7500 kilometers later
I was originally planning on writing this for the 5000 kilometer mark, but that came and went so quickly, I didn’t have anything substantive to add.

Use all screens in RDP
This is one of those things that – in hindsight – is fairly obvious, but which wasn’t until I was asked the question, and had to start thinking about it.
